The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has officially addressed the ongoing concerns regarding the scarcity of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) in certain regions of the country.
In a statement via its X handle on Thursday, signed by its Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, NNPCL disclosed that the current tightness in fuel supply was due to logistical challenges, which had now been successfully resolved.
The company also emphasized that there will be no changes to the prices of petroleum products despite the recent supply disruptions.
NNPCL further urged citizens to refrain from panic buying, assuring them that there is an adequate supply of fuel across the nation.
The statement read: “The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) wishes to clarify that the tightness in the supply of Premium Motor Spirit currently being experienced in some areas across the country is as a result of logistics issues and that they have been resolved.
“It also wishes to reiterate that the prices of petroleum products are not changing.
“It urges Nigerians to avoid panic buying as there is a sufficiency of products in the country.”
