Standup for Women Society Borno chapter hosts inauguration, awards presentation



The 2024 Inauguration and Awards Presentation of the Standup for Women Society Borno State Chapter celebrated the organization’s commitment to women’s empowerment in the state.

Hon. Zuwaira Gambo, Commissioner for the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, represented several dignitaries, including the First Lady of Borno State, Dr. Falmata Babagana Umara Zulum, and Sen. Barr. Kaka Shehu Lawan of Borno Central. Sen. Kaka Shehu Lawan demonstrated his support with a generous donation of 2 million naira to the organization, underscoring his dedication to its mission.

The event honored Dr. Falmata Babagana Umara Zulum with an award for excellence in recognition of her outstanding contribution to women’s empowerment. Hon. Zuwaira Gambo accepted the award on her behalf. Additionally, awards were presented to Sen. Kaka Shehu Lawan and Hon. Zuwaira Gambo herself, acknowledging their collective efforts in promoting women’s development in Borno State.

In her address, Hon. Zuwaira Gambo conveyed the First Lady’s message, emphasizing the critical role of the Standup for Women Society in advocating for women’s rights.
